Internationally Acclaimed Ceo To Speak At Grunig Lecture Tuesday

Hill+Knowlton CEO Jack Martin to lecture on digital media redefining the communication industry.

The University of Maryland’s Department of Communication and the Institute for Public Relations (IPR) present their Fifth Annual Grunig Lecture featuring Global Chairman and CEO of Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Jack Martin.  Martin will discuss, “Democratization of Data: From Research to Effective Communication.” Leading up to the lecture will be a series of 11 roundtable discussions led by professionals from organizations including the U.S. Department of Treasury, Edelman, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Lockheed Martin, Pepco, University of Maryland Sports Broadcasting and more. Discussion topics range from social media and sports marketing, to agency vs. corporate PR, communicating for the government, and effective communication strategies for campaign 2012. The 11 roundtable-networking discussions will provide opportunities to interact with these executives, alumni and students in an intimate, small-group setting. This is the Department of Communication and IPR’s premier networking event for Washington D.C.-and Baltimore-area students and professionals. The lecture series honors James E. Grunig, Professor Emeritus, and Larissa A. Grunig, Professor Emerita, of the University of Maryland.  When:            Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012
